Crazy weekdays lead to crazy weekends

So last week I was a baking fool I made peanut butter brownies, chocolate marshmallow cookies, chocolate covered oeros, chocolate covered marshmallows, halloween oreo bark and my 1st attempt at rolled sugar cookies.

I think the peanut butter brownies were my favorite to make out of everything though. I mean how could they not be? With the combination of peanut butter, brown sugar, reeses peanut butter cups and chocolate chips (can I just take a minute to drool please, lol). It was a definate temptation, but they weren't for me, they were for an actual paying customer (YAY!).

So after the peanut butter brownies I'd have to say that the chocolate covered oreos were my rfavorite to make.

All you need is your favorite melting chocolate, I use the wiltons melting chocolates, and oreos. Make sure you have either wax paper or parchment to let the oreos sit on after you's coated them.  Mkae sure you get them coated well in the chocolate them tap off the excess chocolate. I usually use a fork when dipping and tap it on the side of the bowl.

For the Oreo bark you are going to use the same materials just in a different order. Get yourself a pan, line it with wax paper. crush up a handful of oreos and melt yourself some chocolate. Pour the chocolate over the oreos and mix around with a fork, making sure the cookies pieces are coated in chocolate. Refridgerate for about an hour. Then cut and serve or package.

Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies, Halloween Spritz and Pumpkin Cookies. YUM!

So these are a huge hit in my household these days, and the best part about them is that you add on a few orange and black sprinkle and they are perfect as Halloween cookies too.

When I was younger my mom and I would pull out all the baking pans and mixing bowls right about this time of year and the baking would begin. My kids love to help mixing the doughs and licking the spatulas. The other day I had made some Halloween themed Spritz cookies and my Daughters hands were black from food coloring. Luckily nothing got on her clothes, but it looked like she had been playing with an ink pad.

Before we decorated them

And after we decorated them

We also made some yummy pumpkin cookies for a yard sale that we had at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. We sold about a dozen. I am not usually a pumpkin fan myself. I will usually make a pumpkin pie for my husband and the kids, but it's just not my thing. But these pumpkin cookies are awesome! They are light and fluffy and I would've eaten a dozen all by myself, but I have to watch my doughy figure, lol.

Baking from home

So It's been approximately 2 weeks since I decided to start working on my goal of having a home baking business. So far I have completed 1 order and I have 1 more for sure this week. This weeks order is for the best brownies ever, Reese's Peanut Butter with chocolate chips brownies.
These brownies are, for lack of a better word, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Usually my efforts go towards baking for my darling husbands coworkers in his office. And I totally plan to keep baking for them, but I hope to branch out and expand to other people. Recently I have been researching the whole shipping aspect of this business, and boy oh boy have I had a reality check. Shipping baked goods is NOT cheap, and finding the right containers and shipping materials is such a headache. Ugh, but it's just one more thing to learn right. Well that's all for today.
